RIP Windfall

Word has gotten around the island that Captain Rob has had to ground his beautiful and beloved sailboat "Windfall".

I've been putting off this blog in an effort to get him to put it in his own words, but we keep missing and now he's working on purchasing "Windfall II", so we'll get a full report soon.

We look forward to seeing those red sails in the sunset again this summer and wish Captain Rob fair winds!

This month's Ocracoke Newsletter is about "Ocracats" and was written by Pat Garber. You can read it here: http://www.villagecraftsmen.com/news031710.htm.

It's so sad to hear about Windfall. Stan so loved sailing with Capt. Rob and we often would go down to the end to see those red sails at sunset. What a beautiful sight! Keep us posted on Windfall II.

I saw red sails at sunset, the sky was all aglow

Another day is ending, and soon the duvet of diamonds will enchant those that wait

  3. Oh no! We're so sorry to hear this, as we enjoyed sailing on the Windfall for the first time last summer, and Tom took several photos of the Windfall and Captain Rob even uses one of them on his website in his photo gallery! I hope that the Windfall II will be just as seaworthy and we're looking forward to another sail this June. Keep us posted!
